[IMG]I've been in the trucking business for the past 38yrs.Both as an owner/operator,and driving trucks owned by companies. I was working for Express 1 out of Buchannan,Michigan. started out driving their truck, then bought the truck I was driving in July of 2005,and in Sept of 2005 a guy driving a car OWNED by the State of Ohio ran a red light in Fostoria,Ohio into the rear of my truck as I was making a turn on the green light. His passenger was thrown from the car,and was killed. Sgt Savage of the Ohio State Police made the accident report to make me at fault to cover up for the other driver's mistake. The State of Ohio is withholding permission for my state (Michigan) to reinstate my CDL since 2006.Express 1 was a real great compant to work for. They do take very good care of their drivers. They have a good system that works for everyone. If there is no loads in the area, and they request you go to a different area that might have a load, you will get paid empty milage. What company do you know does this? Another nice thing is after you've been there over two years dispatch will give you a choice of three runs, and you get to pick the one that will work best for you,and them. A very smart company that works the system for everyone.[IMG]

The law firm of Crabb,Brown, and James from Columbus,Ohio was hired by Express 1 to defend me in court on 2/14/2006,but was informed by Attorney Phil Templeton that they were refusing to defend me any further. The Ohio Public Defenders office has also refused,as the time limit has run out. There is not a good trucking company that will hire you with a "Vehicular Manslaughter" charge on your driving record. That should be on the guy driving the car,but no one in Ohio wanted to invest the time to prove it. Ohio State Police is stating that I'm a danger to others on the road. It's their lie,and they can tell it any way they like....they can hide dishonesty behind the badge.Who's going to question them?

So sorry to hear of your situation. So are you no longer driving for a living? We are interested in maybe becoming an expediter team. You said you bought the truck you were driving...bought it from whom? Express-1 or a fleet owner? Everything you said sounds interesting. If you have the time I would enjoy hearing more. Thank you.

Just an update....The state of Ohio withheld my Michigan driver's license to drive a car until 2017.I had to retake a driver's test to drive a car on a restricted from 8am to 11PM.It just shows "Equal Justice " does not go from one state to another. The late George Carlin said it best "Police officers are paid to commit perjury, when benefits the state's case".

I've been retired since the accident. I bought it from Express 1 in July 2005,and the accident was in Sept 2005. The truck could have been repaired with new suspension brackets. He hit me so had it broke all of the ones that held the rear axle. I just turn 70 in 2018. This accident cost me my retirement savings .I had a major heart attack in 2006 from this accident. The guy that hit me turned around , and sued me. There wasn't one person in the whole state of Ohio stood up in my defense in Fostoria Municipal Court on Feb14,2006. A "fair trial " I never got ! The Ohio legal system saw to that !
