Hey guys I'm considering getting into the HOT SHOT business with a 1 ton Crew Cab and 40' goose neck and I'm trying to get as much info before the final decision as I can. One thing I'm curious about is how do you handle logging "sleeper time" when a crew cab truck will not meet the DOT requirements for a sleeper?

To add some perhaps helpful information that you're probably already aware of since you asked the question:

Theres a company who makes a sleeper conversion kit that they claim is 100% DOT compliant. Here's the link, perhaps it can help you. http://www.woodhouse.com/store/sleeper_berth.htm
Theres another company, but I understand there is some question if theirs is compliant, I think it's at http://www.crewcabsleepers.com -
I bought my Dodge at Woodhouse and saw what they offer up close. -
gotta log it

Hotshot is commercial and therefore must be logged. However, there are special provisions regarding how to log sleeper/off duty time. I would suggest checking into some kind of seminar that addresses your situation. Your state's DOT should have information on where to find these classes.
When you get the skinny, how about sharing it with the rest of us? -
There is NOT a legal sleeper for your truck...................
Motels are the ONLY way to be legal............

If you decide to take your break at a "girlfriend's" house, you better be prepared to prove it...

Actually, they have to prove you didn't. It still is a free country and you have rights.
