Hey guys I'm considering getting into the HOT SHOT business with a 1 ton Crew Cab and 40' goose neck and I'm trying to get as much info before the final decision as I can. One thing I'm curious about is how do you handle logging "sleeper time" when a crew cab truck will not meet the DOT requirements for a sleeper?

If I am not mistaken your setup is one that does not require loging so you really do not have to worry bout it.

To answer the original question - I have absolutely no idea. :)

To add some perhaps helpful information that you're probably already aware of since you asked the question:

Neither one of these are dot compliant.

I bought my Dodge at Woodhouse and saw what they offer up close.

Hotshot is commercial and therefore must be logged. However, there are special provisions regarding how to log sleeper/off duty time. I would suggest checking into some kind of seminar that addresses your situation. Your state's DOT should have information on where to find these classes.

When you get the skinny, how about sharing it with the rest of us?

There is NOT a legal sleeper for your truck...................

Motels are the ONLY way to be legal............

    Been There

    Done That.................YMMV

If you decide to take your break at a "girlfriend's" house, you better be prepared to prove it...

Actually, they have to prove you didn't. It still is a free country and you have rights.
