I am looking at my options with leasing to a comppany such as ACME. I see their trucks all the time on HWY59 hauling drill stem. Most trucks I see are F-250/350 or Dodge 2500/3500 single wheel trucks for the most part. Every now and then I see a dually or two. My main question is do these guy's need a Class A cdl??? I currently have a Class B CDL (Texas DL). Anyone else here hauling for ACME that could tell me the inside scoop on this ???

I would never run a single wheel ACME will not hire a new guy with a 40ft and single wheel one ton or 3/4 ton if you see them now thay must do a dedicated run were thay haul the same thing 90% of the time
Most drive dodges because the price you can almost buy two dodges for what you pay for one ford or chevy

Also yes you will need a class A anytime the GVW is over 26,000lbs (combined )you have to have a class A if you get a 3/4 ton and say a 25ft dual single wheel trailer with a gross of 14k than you can get away with just a classB

Do you want to run just your truck? If so it makes a difference on the license. If you want to pull a gooseneck or mini float you will probably need a CDL.

I have a hard time trusting the Craigslist ads after some of the stories I have been hearing. And most of the.jobs on there are local around town stuff.
