I just called Expediting Services, and I am trying to find out if there are any companies which will allow you to run solo. Any names would help me out. I have experience in a semi, however, I prefer straight truck.
Also, how do I go about finding a team partner if that is the only way to go? I am finding that with the new laws coming into effect that 2 of my friends lost their cdl's and the others don't wish to drive a straight truck. I really don't see that not being a big dog and staying on the porch is anything to worry about, as long as you can make money.
Any Expediting Companies

There are a few companies who will hire solos. Most don't like to due to HOS and the urgent nature of expedited freight. FedEx does take some as will Panther. Tri State tries to discourage solos. Express-1 used to take solos but I heard they prefer not to. Try Hours will take a solo. Depending where you live or where you are willing to run they might be the best bet as they have a lot of stuff within 400 to 500 miles of Toledo that a solo could handle without concern to HOS. Just my .02. These days, the best bet for a solo is in a van or sprinter.

I drive for Express-1 and I run solo. Prefer it that way actually. I drive a Straight truck and have been at E-1 for a little over 2 years. I find them to be a good company to work with.

Hi,
I am trying to find some updated info on Express-1. I see Mullan Trans. (leased to E-1) is looking for teams and we are a team looking but I do not know anything about them or E-1 for that matter.
It would be nice to hear from someone who is a driver there (not O/O) that can shed some light on what E-1 are like to drive for and what owners are better to work for and what are not (if any...). How the miles are etc.
Yes I am going to contact them but it always nice to get a heads up prior to contact...
Thanks guys...

There is a recent (aug 13 '11) add on EO and thats where I got the info regarding E-1 and Mullan Trans. Mullan looks to be a fleet owner who is leased to E-1 and is looking for drivers.......so I am not sure what you mean...thanks

If it passes they will be changing their name to XPO Logistics, Inc.
