I know some places are their own broker, isn't TRI-State who you drive for? I can see a trucking company have a problem like that. Crap, with the guys I'm with, I can't even get a hold of anyone over the weekend. But we're real small, 12 trucks, and 14 drivers is all.:biggrin_2559:

Well yeah I ment I was working through my dispatch.

Anyway I'm back in Maine and wondering what I might pick up next. For all I know I could wind up in Canada again.

I guess I should ask is it more difficult if I wind up heading towards Quebec? I mean will I encounter more of a language barrier?

Ya, you'll have a little bit of a problem, but nothing major. Usually there'd be someone around that spoke english, or at least enough to work with. PQ was my least favourite province, but once you get used to the quasi-european street signs, and the somewhat more aggressive 4 wheelers, it's not bad at all. I never had a problem there, and I've been in somewhat northern PQ, where there is no doubt, I was the only english speaker. :biggrin_25525:
When I got to a customer, I'd be greeted in French, Bon Jour, I'd either answer back in French, and the say that's all the french I knew, or just answer in english, good morning, whatever. It'll surprise ya how some of the guys jump from French to English in a heart beat. I NEVER said, "I don't speak French", instead, it was, "I can't speak French" Sort of a play on words, but I thought it to be a little more respectful. Remember, you're in their backyard.

Well I guess I'll learn about it soon. Just picked up a pallet going to Quebec.

Then I can get the Poutine fix. :biggrin_25519:

Quebec isn't too bad, I don't speak french very well but I've never really had a problem you'll run into some people with attitudes that speak English but won't just because. In Montreal and around there there's a lot of English speaking people, I know people that have lived there all their lives and don't speak french. If you're going to Quebec City have fun, they can't/won't speak English (at least that's my experience). The numbers are the same in English or french though so that's a plus lol.

I'm just going to Ste. Claire.

I haven't decided where I'll go afterward. I'm thinking maybe deadhead out to Albany, NY.

I'm a Canadian driver and I usually fill up in the US when I can. Cheaper but you need to add that non-clog stuff if your using US diesel here in the winter. If you buy your fuel well across the line that is.
