I have an F450 Ford 4wd with a 7.3 liter diesel and Im attempting to get started hauling as an owner operator , expediting fashion. The first problem Im having is trying to find insurance for an owner operator.

It seems that insurance companies are geared towards large companies with lots of trucks, and not towards the individual. It seems also to be almost impossible to get started wth just one pickup. This is against the norm for private enterprise and I think thegovernments small business association ought to be involved here .They are involved with all other sorts of amall business I know of.

Also, the only way you can get into the business usually is to bleed thru the nose to some bloodsucking group who wants you to drive for $7.50 cents per hour, if you figure it out.

The SBA should be insuring loans for trucks and also placing some kind of controls on insurance costs. Where are these people when you really need them.

Maybe its time we got someone in DC interested in looking into these problems for truckers.

    What do you think???????

I think you need to think smaller. Look local. You may get insurance through the local dealer.
Call some of the local Insurance dealers in your area. Find out who deals in commercial truck insurance.
