This truck is set-up for the long haul
AmSoil by pass oil filtration 2 microns, XX fuel system 2 micron cat and 4 micron cat water/Sep fuel filters, Baldwin for stock for now but i will put an adapter then use the 2 micron cat there also, AFE-dry air filter, synethic fluids through, Moog idler arms, Firestone airbags, B&W companion fifth wheel, silent armor tires, amsoil-fuel additives, Connex 3500 tweaked, dashcam, cobra 7750 platnium 17 inch hd flatscreen in backseat, all the gauges you could need and quite a few more mods that i will keep to myself!
Filtration has always been very important to me but with these new engines its a must
Yes the truck is tuned, I only run it at 40-60 HP over while towing, with nothing behind me my MPG is flat out amazing, towing its not much different actually, my EGT's aer so much lower now its like its not even the same truck
2009 Chevy 3500 HD, dual alternators, LTZ, blisten-shocks
All this and nothing to haul at the moment, I did geta couple of calls today ......to work for nothing! Maybe I do need to just keep doing the brokering thing for a bit , hell there are no extra costs.Last edited by texan007; 05.16.2012 at 08.00 PM. Reason:: pics did not/will not show

No I cannot sleep in the back of it and never liked sleeping over pisss smelling parking lots anyway. I have only slept in there once when i was forced to because of a road closure then accident which closed the way out ......not a good night sleep. This is not why I bought it though.
I tried the big truck thing and sold my Pete 387 early this year. Never made what I thought I should have for 14-17 hours a day. I did make many a mistake but even after things leveled off I just couldn't see working that much for so little. I'm beginning to think I should just go back to using my degree and to my old life. Trucking was just nit what i thought it was. Lots of promising this and that with very few actually delivering, Now with the fact that the government appears to view us as public enemy #1 I just don't see what is so great about it.
Ohio has now issued AR-15 's to inspection officers.....what the #%#%$¡ This is just a sign of the times I guess but i had to do something else.Last edited by texan007; 05.17.2012 at 11.59 AM.

Its a handicap for sure ....so was buying and automatic Pete 387 and not a manual! I've made some mistakes for sure I'm just lucky that i was able to pay back $75,000 so far of a $126,000 loan. Its been very very rough lately but I'm still hanging in there for the last three months I've had to rely on the brokering to keep me afloat. Something will change soon so I can get back to REAL work I do not like the brokering thing at all. I'm starting to haul some hay and fram equipment also so this it helping to augment my income.
I have been called about hauling RV's, and various things but the pay is so low I just can't see it. I can always go back and work for a radio/TV station but the reason I left there was little room for a better income.
Its a tough economy to say the least but I'm a hard worker and something will come a round soon. The bank actually asked me the other day if a needed a loan for some other kind of equipment but for now I'm just checking out what is out there. I have a friend that hires for oil field hotshots but right now they are full and the drivers are stating that they need more loads.
Everything was fine until I tried hauling frac sand with the Pete and go involved with the wrong company ......lost a pretty penny on that deal ( more than my wife makes as a teacher in a year)
I have learned a lot about trucking since I started this company and much of it was costly and humbling but hey that's the way it goes sometime.
Luckly I had enough saved to last for a while!

Nice truck. I agree with your thoughts on importance of good filtration. Do you have any concerns about the filters hanging below the frame like that? Seems like they're a little exposed and thus susceptible to damage from kicked up debris and such.

the buckeye is not the only state to issue AR15s to officers. texas has been doing that for many years. and there are more states that do this as well.
