Now you know why gary banned me from his forum? Or should I say one of me. I told gary he pimped and pandered those guy's who'd listen to him.
No way I'm going to put 50 cent freight on my trailer and call it building anything, except debt.
gary wanted all those who worked form him to buy a new truck or near new and one of them flimsy looking trailers.
Everyone that worked with him when I first found his site has gone onto being "out of bussiness".
But I was the only UN CORRECT person and called him out on this.
Hard to believe you can't find good freight up where you're at?
I took one to Rochester and loaded at Danvile last week.
You still have the flatbed when you get tired of cars?

    Gonzo1300 Thanks this.

Freight for me was just no fun, and it seemed like I was always deadheading a long distance to my next pick up, but with cars I usually pick up within 10 miles of were I drop, in the future I might get a stepdeck and mix freight and cars, but right now I'm having a blast being plated at 26k ;), I get the green light at every coop . And my truck loves that I pulled the 36k plates off ;)

Awesome thanks so much for the info!
What does your truck and trailer weigh empty?
My 2010 and 32ft flat is right at 15500 so if I read right, your getting 3 cars on and staying under 26k? Must be light cars?

14440# and my truck is 4wd, leaves me with like 11k of cargo.

If I get the new truck and trailer I want I will be up to like 13500# on the cargo ;)

I like freight, I had enough of cars when I ran my shop. People and cars are a PITA. I looked at cd once and just didn't like what I seen at the time. Cars were paying .20-.50 each per mile. And having a car over my head just didn't appeal to me. I've heard stories of the car loads leaning reallly bad on a ball setup?

Just like everything else in the world of work, some people love doing something, and then the next guy cant stand it.
4 cars at .40 CPM would be $1.60 a mile, thats not great at all but sounds like easy work.

    Ouch, $1.60 per mile :biggrin_2556:

This guy drank from gary's punch bowl of knowledge. gary's ltl forum does have some decent information for guy's looking to get into trucking. Just make sure of one thing always when reading on that forum, DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT GARY OR ANY OF HIS GUYS SAY !!!

Very seldom do we haul a car for the posted price, we always get more :)

You are right about people being a PTIA, lol, we haul to-from dealers witch helps out.

At some point I will get a 5th wheel, its not that I'm afraid of it tipping, its watching the trailer flex, och!
