How to SUCCESSFULLY Market Your Hot Shot Business?

Hello from GHS in Casper, Wyoming!

I am wondering how other hot shot companies market their business and get new clients? We've recently expanded into Colorado from Wyoming and get the majority of new business from the web. It's a fantastic lead source for us and the majority of the customers we get, we keep which turns into great long-term growth.

We were formed 7 years ago and picked up a lot of business by word of mouth but today, the internet is where it's at from us.

Would love to answer your question but you know more than I and that is why I am going to ask you, what vehicle do you use? What trailers do you pull? I am looking at 1994 E350 Cargo Van and a 8.5 x 16 Enclosed trailer and use the internet. Am going to call ins. agent soon but was wondering if the setup I planned to use will fall under FMCSA's rules for log books, med cards and what not? Thanks

I am wondering if any Expediters could answer this for me. Does the age of your equipment matter in the world of expediting any less or more than in the class 7/8 world. I realize some company's won't allow you to lease on with them if your vehicle is too old. But, I also now that if you have your own authority, age doesn't matter, except in CA, so I would assume it is the same for a Cargo Van in Expediting?
