Panther Strait truck RPM, is 1.20 what I should be getting?
I just saw an interesting advertisement for panther at http://www.expeditersonline.com/ advertising strait trucks as making 1.60+ a mile, but I'm only getting 1.20? that's a pretty significant difference. I'm not an O/O, but a contracted driver so I only get a percentage of 1.20, but this still effects me, of course. 58% of 1.20 is not as much as 58% of 1.60. Can anyone shed some light on this? Maybe...are they including the average FSC rate in their advertisement? It does clearly say, fleet average RPM, but that would still mean that I'm on the very very very very lowest end of payment, unless that 1.60 is including the FSC rate.
Thanks!

You have to watch the ads, or read the fine print, some will give a rate and the FSC will be in it, others it is not, and some will give what their FSC rate is.

Who in their right mind would take a load for $1.60 per mile including fuel surcharge?

it costs me less than .40 cents a mile in fuel in my truck, and that leaves 1.20. Since I'm a contract driver, I get 58% which is .70 per mile. That's not bad, twice what most company drivers make. I don't know much and I don't pretend to know everything, but this turns out to be excellent compensation. The problem is that I sit a lot, otherwise that would be very fair pay. I've no doubt there's higher pay for strait trucks, but 1.60 is nothing to complain about as you made it out to be.

Expedite carriers also give preferred customers a "discounted " FSC.

well it is good to know that if I'm under my own authority, I can make more! I'm happy with my 1.2 /mile plus FSC right now so if I can make even more? That's just great news!

The rate per mile ya get has to do w/ your OWNERS CONTRACTED RATE. I make more than 1.20 mi and can turn down loads at that rate w/o getting a refusal. Wanna make more? Switch owners!
