    Ram Longhauler concept truck

Here's what you get when you put a megacab and pickup bed on a 5500 chassis . Nice but it would probably cost as much as a Class 7 truck . It's also featured in the September "Truck Trend"magazine .

Finally the factory catches up to what the pickup crowd wants. Wonder what that option costs? I think the aftermarket charges about $12,000 to stretch the frame and make a long bed mega. That's no sleeper, is there any practical use for a truck like that. It's cool, I like it, but it looks like a toy for the wealthy..

I know my basic uber size 1.25 ton Dodge pickup cost near 42k and it is pretty basic, that truck I would guess be around 60K maybe?

Have you checked prices on new ones lately? I got $12K off sticker on an '07 3/4 shortbed Big Horn CTD back in the fall of '06, it stickered @ $43K, sort of feel boinked on that one looking back, most of it was rebate. Anyways, similar '11 models are now in the $50K range. Even what I paid was rediculous, sure wish I had that money back, but I got the fever just before they came out with the choked up 6.7L and I had to have one. Be the last pickup I ever buy, new anyways. But $50K is waaaay out of reach. I wouldn't be surprised if a truck like that stickered at mid to high $60K. Surely they have big $10K rebates like they did back when I bought mine. How can anyone afford such a ride just to pull a horse trailer now and then?

Not looked at a new truck since fuel prices went postal, I went and traded backwards for a older truck that has three times the fuel mileage. LOL

Next new ride will be another Harley, already have too many cages now.
