Any advice? It is possible I can afford a larger truck but would leave me kinda thin in the wallet. I got layed off the day after the election and need to provide for my family. I am here to learn and earn!

Johnny you can make a decent living with a 3500 & trailer , just ask around /or check with drivers you see with a hot shot rig , they should have a company name on there truck , you'll have to see through the bs & make your own since out of it , also there's a lot of hidden coast in trucking of any size truck good luck

I appreciate the reply and I am aware of there being hidden cost, I'm just gonna go for it. If it don't work, hell at least I can say I tried! I already got my setup so too late to turn back now, should be an interesting ride!

I'am semi retired , last flat bed co I was leased to was west fright , there out of canada , but the local office had to many teachers pets ,& I was not one of them , co it self was a good outfit to haul for , just the local boss was a ### him self , with then I ran a dodge one ton & 40 ft g neck , then bought another one ton from a driver there that the boss did'nt like , so he did'nt like me for helping the guy out

I just bought a Ram 3500 and a gooseneck. Was driving a W900 for someone but decided to be my own boss. Hope the oilfield treats me well. Where you out of Johnny Shipit?

Any thoughts on an auxillary tank, I know I want one just not sure what size would be best, looking at a 75 gallon L shaped with a toolbox, and a 45 gallon with a toolbox that is in front of the tank, it would sit lower in the bed than the 75 gal, might keep the theives away. Think the extra weight would make the 75 gal impractical?

i had a 100 gal saddle tank from a big rig mounted right behind my cab, dodge 3500 , plumbed into the main truck tank & gauge , so you should be good with a 75 gal tool bob
