I'm interested in Panther, but i would like some feedback from drivers who drove for them. Even if people hear about them. I have read other Threads about them.

Well I guess if you posted this thread 6 days ago and the fact that there has been no response does not bode well for us trying gather first hand info from current and/or former Panther drivers. We are curious how things are in their Big Truck Expedited/Government loads Division...Good Luck!

There is a couple that are friends of mine that drive teams for a small company. They drove individually for JB Hunt and later got married. They left JB to drive for Swift. They drove for Swift for 2 years as a team and were offered a team spot driving a straight truck for Panther Expedited. They said they had more stress at that company than anywhere they've ever driven. It was a common thing to be dispatched late on a load. They said that very often they were given a load that would require 15 to 18 hours of driving but only had 6 or 7 hours to do it. They were almost always late, ran illegal on a regular basis and were pushed many times according to them. Another problem they had was carrying a late load to a business on Friday, that would close for the weekend before they could get there. They would have to wait all weekend there until Monday and would not get paid for the layover time, even though the late dispatch was not their fault. They stuck it out for a year to see if it would get better, but regreted leaving Swift after that year. They soon got a position with a smaller company doing Regional Hazmat and tanker. The reason I was told this is because I'm going to be starting school this spring, and asked them for advice on a company. I trust these folks and have known them many years. They said they would never work at Panther again, though that is only one story. You should probably get some advice from current Panther drivers.

I live in Medina, ohio and Panther is about 8 mile from my home, I work at Chrysler stamping plant and we are always having Panther in there to delv. or pick up. Next time I see one I'll ask how they are doing. Because chrysler is going to offer me a buyout, and I'm going to buy a truck (drove for 18 yrs. before getting on at chrysler) I thought about Panther also but I c there trucks sitting alot !

Should I stay or should I go?
I will decide, thank you
Thank you berry berry much -
Google expediter online to post specific questions on expedited freight. We're not allowed to post links to other trucking sites here ...There are many sites dedicatated to expediting and some have very good forums that can answer most of your questions. You could also go to the carriers sites and check out what they have to offer.Like all forms of trucking, expedited is down too... Good luck. -
I don't know if I am aloud to post the email I got from their recruiter.... so I went back, and erased it. If anyone want's it forwarded, then PM me, or you can contact them yourself. It took a day or so for a reply, which wasn't bad.
