Ya I've already decided on a M2 with the isc cummins and 10 speed. And I do hear there is a cabover running with a gooseneck down in Louisiana. Have yet to see him though.

You mean you can't do this?
2 fiberglass tanks going 360 miles. Tanks are only about 3700 pounds each 12' diameter and 20' long. This is how we made our truck look small -
Wow! Looks like that was actually a fun trip!

I'm looking for a class 6 truck myself. I've looked at the M2 and also looked atvthe Kenworth T270. Both seem like grest trucks. The KW is about $10K less than the M2 so I'm currently leaning towards the T270. I currently run an F-350 dually and it's probably going to be a while before I get the class 6 truck barring some major windfall falling my way, until then it's just putting funds aside when I can.

I ran a one ton for three years. The mileage was good but very limited on weight. Even more limited on height of load. Wind drag killed the truck more than weight. December last year I bought an '09 Frieghtliner M2106 Sportchassis with 129K. I figured it would still outlast two new one tons. The expanded capability more than made up for the difference in the extra fuel. A Sportchassis isn't a designed commercial truck but I spend a lot of time in it and I deserve some comfort. DVD, TV, Leather, Air Ride etc. The back bench lays flat and I put a twin mattress on it. It is almost like home. I'm 6'4" and I can stretch out! Also, I like having the bigger brakes. With the truck engine brake and foot brake, I rarely need the trailer brakes at all. The truck will stop even with 25K behind it. I'm glad I made the move. I now return home after 3-15 days on the road without feeling completely deprived of the comforts of a civilized human. My $0.02.

Im currently in the market for a KW T270. I'm on a haul with my one ton and the truck is in the shop thanks to my cooling system having a blowout just barely west of Denver. I saw a T270 running under Panther with a Studio Sleeper on the cab. If it had a shorter wheelbase and a gooseneck hitch, it would be perfect for me. I love my dually but the longhauls are starting to take a toll. The haul I'm on now is running from Minnesota to California.
