It matters not what you haul or who you haul for you will have dead head and that can be unavoidable. The catch is hauling for living wage or just to to buy fuel to get out. Hauling cheap hurts the industry so don't. The freight industry is one of the most volatile industries going and a perfect example of the good and the bad with no notice.

Look around you when traveling to see if some company in y our area has freight for a hot shot . stop in and talk to them about what they haul. What they pay, The weight and size and if they have a return loads of raw material. You don't have to go for just what a company your leasing to has. Find your self a customer, lease on to a carrier then put in the contract that YOU are the only one to haul out of there. Or if they send a different truck you get a piece of the revenue for each load . It can be done. Then when you get comfortable with the industry get your own authority and take 100% of the revenue.

my .02 cents on the passenger program would be just like if you are an independent contractor or owner op. if its your truck and your insurance and your fuel, its your rules, the only thing is your pulling THEIR freight. I would had riders if i #### well pleased.

Unless the O/O has their own authority they have to work with the rules of the carrier they are leased to. The carrier one is leased to has control. Like it or not. No passengers or an age limit of the passenger is their decision and it is their insurance that covers the passenger. A very high libaility issue.

If you have your own authority you pay for every thing. If your leased to a carrier they pay for some of the insurance. It is their watchful eye on liability that tends to control some decisions.
If you are leased to a company you should read the whole lease agreement.
To simplify it . If their name is on the door, it is their rule. Period.

Are you talking about the battery kit? I use a set of bungie cords. The battery is in a case that has a hook that sits on the inside of the A-Frame of the trailer.

It doesn't matter if you are hauling, pulling or driving. All RV deliverers are one way. If you are lucky enough to find another company shipping like item back close to your home you'll be #### lucky. Very few RV drivers make any amount of money once you deduct the expenses and deadhead home. Fuel, meals, hotels, insurance, maintenance of vehicle and your time. Best of luck in your search.

That's not quite true Phantom409 and you can make pretty good money hauling rv's. You just have to learn to curb your expenses and time arrivals and drop offs properly.
