Another item to check is check the Standard and Poor rating on the insurance carrier they are placing you with. If they are B or worse beware because they could be in financial jeopardy. I agree with flatbedcarrier - use a carrier based in the United States so if you do get into a dispute you have some reasonable recourse. Again, double check your agent's submission too, to make sure they disclosed all the pertinent information and the correct information - many do not to keep their quote competitive and others do it out of ignorance, neither work well for the client after they have suffered a loss. Your only recourse then is to sue the agent's E&O policy for the omission but you better have proof and your copies of the Accord apps are the only proof you will have that you gave the right information but that wasn't submitted for the quote/policy. Do not buy based on price - buy on coverage with the best price - there is a huge difference. Not all agents understand the trucking industry. Good points on the multiple BOL's and unidentified recreational trailers being towed rather than hauled.

Hi thanks for the info! Every insurance company I contact never gives me a quote..progressive stated they will send my info to other insurance companies.I get 15 phone calls a day now that just ask for information then say an agent will get back with you shortly...who can I call for an actual quote?

Laura, I just read another post that you made. It sounds like you're leased to a RV Transport Company?

I'm wondering if once the insurance companies that you're calling find out that they can't sell you all your coverage, cargo, liability, etc that they're just not interested? They should at least call you back and tell you that though. I'd say ask the company that you're leased to for some recommendations on who else you can call for a quote in your area. They should know which insurance companies their other leased owner operators in your area are using.
