    • Freight:--$750,000 - $5,000,000, depending on commodities transported; $300,000 for non-hazardous freight moved only in vehicles weighing under 10,001 lbs.
    • Passengers:--$5,000,000; $1,500,000 for registrants operating only vehicles with seating capacity of 15 or fewer passengers. LOOKING AT THIS WHERE THE 300,000 IS- MOVED IN VEHICLES WEIGHING LESS THAN 10,000LB, A GUY WITH A TRAILER WEIGHING 9999 CAN GET BY WITH 300.000 LIABILITY IF NOT HAULING HAZARDS, IS THIS RIGHT?

Were are you located? I am an agent as well and write hot-shots and trucking all the time. I do not write with Risk Retention Groups. Stay far, far away from them!

Try and get a broker to dispatch you a car with $5000 cargo insurance and let me know how that works out for you. Most REQUIRE $100,000 cargo for a 1-3 car rig.
