Switched from Michelin to Firestone's TransForce tire after last winter. TransForce tires held up maybe 6 to 7k miles more than the Michelin LTX M/S2, both E rated. The ride and wet traction is better on the Michelin tire. I got 67k mi out of the Firestones and could have gone to 70k on the rears but the fronts were used up whereas the previous set of Michelin tires wore pretty much the same all around. If not for the difference in ride quality I would probably switch back and forth between the two during winter / summer. Has anyone tried Bridgestone Duravis R250's on their truck during winter? I run them on my trailer and they wear like iron. I just wonder how well they'd do on the truck in snow.
Lite bug Thanks this. -
I use Goodyear Kevlar tires. I got somewhere around 100,000 miles on my first set. They may cost a little more but get me twice as much than most others.
BoxCarKidd Thanks this. -
I had a F350, steel wheels, that came with TransForce's. Rotated R.R. to steer then L.R. to steer every 10,000 miles while maintaining same direction of rotation. Sold it at 92,000 with two of original tires on the front at about 3/32. F250 4wd with Nitto Terra Grapplers, range D?, about 50,000 close to home miles. Centers wear from running 10 psi extra at times with out load. Will buy both of them again but just replaced some 19.5 Michelin's, at 44,000 miles, with Toyo's. Running some GY 614 trailers, range G, that are doing the job others would not, but does anyone know any good alternatives to $300 a pop? Probably just change over to 17.5's, right? Thanks armygatormn: I will look into GY Kevlar's.

I run duallies and the kevlars tires have been the best that I have found in regards to treadwear. They go well beyond the 50K mile warranty on them.
