I'm aware that hot shotting is mostly a GN trailer job, but is there enough freight needing enclosed transport to make hauling a 24-28ft cargo/car trailer worthwhile? I would like to know what the advantages and disadvantages are, besides the obvious weight and height limits with the enclosed trailer, with both types of hauling. Can you find enough loads to make a decent living with an enclosed trailer? I'm in a position right now to go either way as far as buying a trailer goes. One big advantage to the enclosed trailer is that you could partition the front 4ft of it and attach a fold-down bed to the front wall, creating a nice sleeping area. That alone would save lots of money on motels, or restless nights in the back seat of your truck. Anyone doing or tried this type of hauling?

You won't make enough with a 24 ft enclosed unless you have good contracts. I did start with a 24ft, but as soon as I got the money, I got a 48 ft.

I had a topper on my truck and made my sleeping quarters back there. Only was good in decent weather.

What kind of freight did you haul in the 48 footer?
