Doesn't matter to me what you do just don't come back in here crying about rates.

"good luck with that" duh har har har. Spoken like a brilliant trucker. Naw I should just pay the fuel and deadhead back. Obviously your not a owner operator and a Schneider sheep or some other big company drone. You also must not be too good at math. $1.00 a "reload" mile vs NEGATIVE 0.45 cents a deadhead mile...hmmm.. How foolish of me.

"get home" ? why would I go home? I'm going back to the yard to pickup more high paying freight.

And to think I was one of the only ones to answer your original post. You're just another ingrate waste of anyone's effort.

@ rollin coal. Why is back haul a bad thing. To me it sounds better to be paid something coming back to base than empty paying my whole way out of pocket? Please I am not picking sides, just trying to know what is good and what is not.

Circumstance is everything. There are no clear cut rules. Sometimes it makes sense. Sometimes it doesn't. If you can't make the decision in about a minute then your previous rates were too low anyways and it's a moot point. In other words if you're sweating and fretting about it you screwed up, learn from that.

he is 100% wrong seetya. he's a typical big rig, big company trucker mentality. they don't see nor experience this side of the owner/op rv transport/hotshot business.

absolutely, don't settle for low rates on your initial haul (negotiate higher if possible), but in regards to a reload its better to take something rather than nothing if deadheading back. Not that you shouldn't have minimum standards on reload rates as well however.
