They are called "powerjoke" for a reason, the build quality is similar to the Oldsmobile 350 diesel of the 1970s and 1980s.

I have buddies who have the Duramax and I just got rid of a 6.4 Ford. I know my 6.4L got horrible MPG and my Duramax buddies tell me theirs is worse. I went to a Dodge 6.7L and have enjoyed a huge increase.

I know that doesn't help with your 6.0 decisions though.

If you are looking for a daily driver, find an engine that had a better track record than this one, Newton's third law of physics; for EVERY action there is an equal and Opposite reaction!!
start jacking around with these trucks and you will weaken or compromise something else. I'm not sure why people think they can re-engineer engines: they are built for a purpose right or wrong, if it doesn't fit for you find something else there's a ton of good iron out there that may not be the strongest or the fastest but it will make you a living and that's supposedly what this is all about.

Guess you weren't paying attention to the "forum rules" about emission mods and or deletions discussions??

A Ford powerjoke is still a piece of junk no matter what you do to it, why waste the money to modify it?

and sure, with money it can be made into a good engine, and that's debatable. for that price, the money paid by the original purchaser should have bought a motor that can run at least four hundred thousand miles without blowing up.

I don't know why some people would spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on that motor, just to make it almost as good as a Cummins
