The title says it all. Looking to see if anyone is using a kodiak or topkick. What are you scaling and how does the truck feel. Also how many people are using a duramax and how's it been holding up? Thanks everybody.

I've seen a few of them hauling out there, and i'm sure someone can pass along their experiences. G.M. no longer sells them in the U.S. so they're getting scarce.

Ya ive got my eye on a couple that are in great shape but im a cummins man so i dont have a clue. And yes id rather have a 6.7l than the duramax but older dodges are getting scarce too. Can find a def 6.7 all day but who wants that.

Thats because all the good, old, dodge trucks are down in florida.

Low miles, and well cared for.

    Some good estate deals........

    check them out.

The Topkicks are great trucks I drove one for an oilfield company and it had great power.I was talking to a buddy of mine that was a manager there and he said that after I left he had them tuned and straight piped and now have a few hundred miles on them with no problems.

I ran behind one yesterday that had a unibuilt sleeper on it pulling a two axle RV/car hauler. I was stuck behind him through about 40 miles of backroad, he never got within 7mph of the speed limit, and couldn't take a curve at any more than 25mph under the posted speed.

Ya just drove a couple and they have some sloppy steering. Plus after having the inline 6 the V8 doesn't feel as powerful. I like the size of the cab, if only dodge would make a huge cab like that.

I drive one for work although I don't pull a trailer so my info may not be as helpful.

Ours has been used and abused and still runs quite well with 307k on it. Good power and since having some front end work and new steer tires it handles pretty well.

The Duramax LB7, which was from 03 to 05 model years i believe, is a good motor but they are super pron to injector issue and it's costly to repair (4-5k in parts and labor). The one I drive is on it's 2nd or 3rd complete set since new. Service support is limited and nearly all parts have to be ordered from GM as they're discontinued and not all that popular anymore which makes any repairs time consuming. Mine must also be geared awful to run interstate as 70mph puts me around 2600rpm, and thus averaging like 9-9.5mpg.

Other than that it's a good truck. Allison trans has been flawless since day one, with nothing other than fluid flushes. Never had anything it wouldn't pull either.

Owned a 99 until last year. Turning radius was crap. Definitely not the best truck I've had. In fact, doubt I ever go there again.
