I'm all for helping guys get started but you have no idea what you're even trying to do do you? You have the worst truck for this, no cdl, no exp and are too busy to bother looking things up yourself. Ask yourself this, would you hire you?
Guys need to stop watching tv shows and deciding its that easy.

To answer your opinion, no can't tell you who will hire an inexperienced non cdl srw truck with no trailer to haul their freight around.
Then again you may not have time to read this.

I read the OP. How else so I know you have the wrong truck for this. Yes I know you plan a new truck when you figure it all out. You have no cdl and driving a farm truck sometime doesn't get you a job or license. You want to work the winter like that is the easiest thing in the world. It's actually much harder in the winter.
I don't want to be a jerk so beings you're too lazy to look it up ill help you. You will Need liability ins, cargo insurance workers comp or occupation health, you need a cdl to haul a decent size trailer, you need straps and chains, are sleeping in your truck or hotel? Do you have a couple grand for fuel and repairs?
Very few companies hire drivers and supply trucks they want owner operators so all these things are provided by you.
You post saying you're too busy to read what others have already posted and are surprised when we don't want to type it all again for you. Maybe if you put a little more effort into Your new career we would be a little more helpful. If you don't care then why should we?
So do you have specific questions or still want a full lesson?

He's within 3 hours of oil boom yet he wants to get out of the state because the winters are too cold. To me that doesn't make any sense. Obviously, he's been watching to much Shipping Wars and thinks this is a easy way to make money.

I was busy as a matter of fact farming so no I had no time to scroll through 50 pages trying to find the right one.

i have contacted a few hubs like horizon transport (rv hauling) and acme transportation I think it is and have part of my applications filled out. But a few of the other company's I called require the OTR varifiable experience. As far as a cdl goes I actually have the book right here next to me. Im going to study it today again. I know I need to get insurance and all that good stuff so that's no shock to me.

I have NEVER seen that show nor any of the other ones because they are bs. I said it would be nice to leave for the winter but it will never happen. I will figure this out on my own or on a differnt forum.
i work very hard for my money I'm always working trying to make more money. That's all I do is work so I'm not afraid to work 16hr days it's no big deal. I also own my own business but I like money so I work more. I raise whitetail deer and if you think that's cheap to do you better think twice.

See that's what your problem is, you think you'll figure it out somewhere else which means you think another forum will give you the answers. The answers are here you just have to read them. I know you are busy, so are us truck drivers. Hard to give lessons and drive at the same time.

If you look 5-6 post below yours you'll find a post just like yours. And a few below that is another. All the info you seek is here for the taking and you won't go look at it.

Here's another tip, after you take the written cdl test you may have to wait 14 days to take a driving test.

I have taken the test before and passed it but didn't get the driving part taken because I didn't have a semi to use. This was years ago before I farmed. It was something I just wanted to do and take just so I had it. I did look at the post you are talking about but still doesn't tell me if I'm out of luck getting on with a company since I don't have the VARIFIABLE CDL. It keeps coming back to that question if you haven't caught on yet

The only places that will probably take you is a fly by night company. I say this because the reason they.want experience is so you'll know what to do if something comes up. Without experience drivers the loads may be late and that is bad. Reputable companies would want to avoid that at all costs and that is why they only want experienced drivers.

You can do your own thing or find a small company to start with. You will not make a lot with that truck but may still be better to start with it to see if you'll make it before spending $50k on a new truck to find out it wasn't worth it. Do not buy a trailer less than 40feet. I have a 40 foot deck over so no dove tail. I have good ramps. There are less expensive options than PJ and Big Tex, my trailer was $3600 less than a PJ and I haul the same loads as my PJ brothers.

You will not make $3 a mile so don't get worried. That is for special drivers and those who lie about being special. I avg $1.70 a mile and only work 3-4days a week. But that is WHY I do you his work. I don't want to be on road all week. I work to live not live to work.

You will get farther and better information on this site by being somewhat polite and not getting pissy if you don't like an answer you get. Just saying.

i know my truck is not the preferred choice and I can easily Go buy a different one. I thought of pulling campers at first just to get the feel of it with my truck I have now and then find a 40-50' trailer and dually.
I believe the company I did check with was paying about the same as what you are making. I need to finish my app for them and see how that goes I guess.
