Hi everyone thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm looking to run some loads for the winter months and if all goes well do it full time. I live in North Dakota about 3hrs east of the Bakken oil patch. I have no "verifiable" truck driving experience but I drive semi quite often since I work on a farm. We are not required to have a cdl if we keep it under 250 miles I think it is. I can and will get one when the time comes. I currently own a 2013 gmc duramax single rear wheels. I am looking to upgrade to a 1ton dually really quick if I can get this all figured out. So my question is how do I hotshot with no varifiable OTR experiance? All the company's I have talked to require this. Also what type of trailer would be best. I'm open to different kinds of runs cars, enclosed trailers , campers whatever it takes to make good money.
    Thank you
    Ryan

ask about milage rate. do what kind of fuel milaged do you get towing? city MPG, fuel cost, ins, PM

    IE
    60 CPM*2000 miles/wk=1200.00
fuel mileage 15 MPG avg=133 gal*3.50/gal=465.00 in fuel
    truck payment?
    truck ins?
so with figures above take home is 735.00
( i know i am forgetting alot, alon with unknowns.)

Here we go again. This question must have been asked a thousand times on this forum. A simple search would tell you all you need to know.

Why don't they make a "sticky" on it so people don't keep asking. Put it on the top of the forum so it can't be moved. I don't have all day to sit and scroll through thousands of post looking for a new guy hotshot post like some ppl so I just posted. That seems to get answers best I guess but thanks for the reply

Well my main question without wasting anymore time is can I or is there a company I can work for that DOESNT require a 2yr varifiable OTR experience. Not sure if YOU read my op but that was the main question. I take no offense to your post I know it gets old seeing the same post. Thanks

I think your in a good area due to the oil fields. I would keep knocking on doors and maybe consider driving for a local hot shot company using there trucks and trailers. This would give you the experience and then you can start your own gig. From what I've read its not hard to get driving jobs in the Bakken...

With all the work that's in that area why would you want to drive out of state anyway

Does anyone know any hotshot company's that are out there or what would be the best way to find them. I was thinking of going out of state so I could stay out of this crappy winters we have lol they get really long and drug out. Not so sure the wife would like me gone that long anyway maybe a week or two at a time would be fine. Thanks
