Greetings everyone! I just purchased a Ford F350 Dually with 8 ft pickup bed and I want to put a 9' 6" flatbed body w/gooseneck hitch and goal post pipe rack on it. I called three different places and one told me it couldn't be done, one of them said yes and the other not sure. Has anyone done this to their truck? Im in the Houston area just in case you want to refer a fab shop to me.

    Thanks

I am sure they make the hitch to fit the truck with the bed on it and don't see why it would be different with the flat bed just cut a hole where it needs to be.
I have also seen flat beds put on mini p/u's so don't think that is it either.
So why did 1 shop say no, 1 say not sure and the last yes?
How did you want this pipe rack mounted? 4 corners of the bed or 2 front corners and front bumper or ??
I just don't see how you want this rack and still clear the trailer and why they might have said no/not sure.

The rack would be goal post style. Two sleeves on the back of the bed for use and two sleeves right behind the headache rack for storage. the no said a 9 foot bed would be too long and it would hit the trailer on turns. The yes I didn't question and the not sure wanted to physically see the truck before giving me a quote.

You would have to put the gooseneck behind the rear axle to clear the bed and you won't like the ride.

I wanted a 9ft. on mine and got the same answer. Once loaded with a trailer it would be obvious.

    Go here.

There is also a company down the street from me that makes beds like CM for GM and Ford as an accessory for dealers, pretty much all the same.
