I'm a 30 year class A, I've done it all, currently hauling cattle. Already have a new Dodge 3500, looking to put it to work. What about hours of service? Do these companies leave you alone? I will not do electronic logs, GPS, etc. I hear a huge amount of negative comments, I want to hear from some of you guys who will run hard. If I bring home $2000/week hauling livestock, it's 6000 miles/week and I get a 1099 at the end of the year: good money, but big miles and I have to pay 100% SS, taxes, etc. so I'm already used to the independent contracter thing.

RV transport would be a step down from what you are doing now. Yes - we all run under all DOT regs. Most of the transport companies use computer logs, (not GPS). I’ll let the ‘full timers” comment on the opportunity. I’m doing seasonal deliveries in the “drive away” and later next month on the “tow-away” side. Just like in your current position you will get a 1099 and are responsible for all of your incurred cost- just like any business.
