Is your truck so fast you gotta run slicks? :biggrin_2556:

Get the 4wd and be done with it. You will need it from time to time.

What is "time to time"? I haven't used 4wd in a pickup in over 2 years. When you have 4x4 you tend to be less careful about where you go, and thats when you need it.

As another poster said, a locking differential works well enough for an OTR truck.

kinda offtopic i think. if you get the ram 3500/4500/5500 with the 6spd(or is it still 5spd?) you can change the BH on the Cummins to put in a Eaton 5 speed or Spicer 5 spd go to Cummins turn it up to 850 ft/lbs and have it all.

What about for times when not physically hauling?
Unless the truck is never used for general driving and you never get snow.

In my line of work, a 4WD is a must. I work mostly in the oilfield. I'd say i'm 50/50 on lease road and black top, but after heavy rains, its nice to know you have the added traction.
