A lot of sound info,... one guy read my mind,... I have done this before in many different aspects,... was succesful. I recently bought a 2003 international durostar 4400, amazing cond. 118,000 orig miles, tandem axle, 46,000 gvw, dual lockers 34,000 lb rears, day cab, 10 spd eaton, 250 hp DT466, air slide new holland, bendix air dryer, heated tanks,.. etc.. etc...plus other options,... thought to myself this would make a great hotshot truck,... 3500 dually's I don't care what the brand name, total pieces of crap,.. period ... I have heard from several sources, wears the freaking trucks out faster than a pair of underwear.... a tandem axle REAL truck,... truck will never be overworked,... pull loads good, better piece of mind , better longevity, better everything,... this blog answered the questions, I already knew in my heart thanks. I think the difference is those that think they are driver/trucker/operators and those of us that really are. My Class 1 since 1979. 3rd gen. Gentlemen Drivers. The other guys unfortunately are kicking themselves. My friend down the street, got rid of his freightliner single axle cat, for a duramax GMC,.. the duramax just put him out of business,.. he cursed like a trooper,... selling the freightliner was the worst move he ever made. En Quote...
