Good job. I've seen too many people go buy all the equipment only to find they either could not get the insurance or could not afford the payments.

Not sure what you mean by FTA? Also not sure what you mean by setting up a new hotshot company?

Once you get your authority you go on the load boards and start hauling.

When you get your plate you will go over to your IFTA office with a small application and get your stickers and IFTA document. In my state it's $10

You should post a pic of your truck and trailer!!!!

We went on line and there was no additional cost other than the $300 government fee. Now I probably would have went and found a company to do it for me, however I also subscribe to a Hot Shot forum they have a How To Guide that walked us thru step by step.

You can do it yourself but it's sooooooo easy to use a service like I posted above. I was done in maybe 30 minutes and from that point on they took the lead. Dot Authority charges $700. I paid $600 years ago. It was a painless procedure.

Once you fill out the application the wheels are in motion. Get your insurance and they post the status on the FMCSA site. Then it's a one week waiting period and your authority is granted. It's a one week waiting period so they can publicly post your intentions which gives people a chance to stop you if your a previous scum trying to hide.
