Well I'm almost ready to haul freight, all paperwork and permits are filed and i'm just waiting on thurdsay to come to pick up my new trailer. could I get some ideas from the old dogs on all of the documents that you provide during a weight station stop and how you organize them in-cab of quick/professional examination? thanks in advance

Im no old dog lol but ill tell you what i keep in my cab. In one folder i keep my logbook along with my bill of lading and any other info for my loads i have jotted on a notebook. In another three ring binder complete with plastic sleeves for separate sheets of paper i have my truck registration, trailer registration, insurance cab card, medical card, IFTA paper and any current permits i have for excess weight or oversize loads. This makes it easy for the officer to thumb through and look at everything individually making everyones job easier and faster. Thats all i can think of for now.

Here's what I have in my folder:

Three ring binder with plastic sleeves for the following:

    - My Cab Card (Registration)
    - IFTA 2016 Certificate
    - D.O.T Annual Inspection
    - Bobtail/PD Insurance & Company Insurance Information
    - Company Authority (MC Page)
    - Company Lease
    - Copy of my Medical card & CDL

Nice, clean and tidy for the officer!

I do not. The shop I work for does it... but you can do one yourself lol... not like the DOT cares. as long as they see it slapped on your truck and they see the dot annual inspection sheet in your truck folder... your fine.
