    Hey guys,

I have a 2004 GMC Savanna 3/4 I'm looking to find some work with. It's not ideal I realize but it's what I got. I've dabbled in uShip and haven't had any luck what so ever. Been low bid several times on somewhat local freight and I get over looked since I have no rating (understandable from a customers end but it sucks), Landstar isn't taking in anymore vans, Bolt Express won't hire a van that old as won't several others. Errands First would hire me with nearly dedicated route from Detroit to Atlanta but they can't guarantee a return load with zero dead head pay. Where do I turn? I know there's work out there. I'm based near Toledo, Ohio, anybody got any bright ideas or can throw me a bone here? Thanks for the replies in advanced. Regards

Have you tried Load one? I got calls from recruiters by using expedite jobs.com too. Another possibility may be the company I work for which is TLC Express out of Indianapolis. Small outfit, but consistent freight.

I actually forgot about Load One, I looked into at your suggestion and I am one year too young for them and they aren't looking for vans. I've looked into other company's, their names escape me, and for
various reasons I'm ineligible for them. Can you put me in touch with TLC?

Add another lane out of Atlanta, to someplace where there is freight coming out for home.

I know they're currently looking for owner operators. And we already have some who driver cargos and sprinters. I'm a company driver in a straight truck though. So I don't know off hand what % of the load is your cut.

Do you have your own authority or just leasing on?

You probably won't find any Expedite company willing to sign on an 11 year old van. Plus a 1,500 pound load capacity won't cut it. Your best bet is probably to get on with a courier company but beware you'll be working long hours for little pay.

Looking for a FREE load board or company or companies that use Selectus (sp?) for my bf. Has own authority. Has a 2015 Cargo van, willing to go anywhere. I live in Texas, and I know he would love to have loads in and out of there to see me. *Wink* Can anyone assist? I swear this is like a secret club. We are both military and this is almost like having security clearances. lol. Can email at missluv98@yahoo.com

Most load boards are going to charge a monthly fee its just part of doing business. I find it hard to believe your not willing to pay $25-$30 a month to have a access to a load board.

Well for starters, being new to this forum, I would hope I would be resource navigated to some useful tools. For one who is novice and seeking help with getting started, one would not know whether or not one should pay for boards or not. ( Thus asking for assistance)

It's not about willing to pay, it's whether or not it is financially saavy to pay. I am sure that you have seen advertisements on stuffing envelopes, or headhunters guaranteeing to find you a job if you send them a check for a designated amount only to render you "empty listings."

I am being careful and proactive as any useful information that I find on this site I may pass it on to my boyfriend (Who is the driver.)

@Midwest1 since you mention sites and a range of how much they cost, do you think you can direct me to some reliable boards that will generate productivity? I do and would greatly appreciate any insight you may offer.
