Tristate has cut their flat rate from $1.20 a mile to $1.05 a mile . They still pay 65% on brokered loads . In expedite brokered loads often pay better . Here's why . Regular customers get fairly low rates . If a customer normally pays $.95 a mile and he has a hot shipment and his regular carrier he has an account with can't get a truck to him soon enough , he will broker the load at a much higher rate to get it move . Expedite carriers give too many discounts to too many shippers to keep the account . Often they will discount the FSC which makes O/O's VERY unhappy .
