Quote:
Express-1 Expedited Solutions announced Tuesday, Nov. 18, that its operating subsidiary, Express-1 Dedicated, has been informed that its primary contract for dedicated services with Ford Motor Co. would cease effective March 2. The contract is administered through Schneider Logistics and initially was awarded to the company in May 2003. The company says its Express-1 Dedicated team consistently performed at a superior level for service, as evidenced by the multiple awards presented by the contract customer for outstanding service.

The main office of Express-1 was recently moved from Buchanan to St. Joseph, MI. Their non-asset based business model uses owner-operators of vans and box trucks. They get lots of press in our community and it is usually very upbeat. Their new offices on Lake Shore Drive near Lake Michigan are in an office/warehouse building managed by my former employer South Shore Companies. The building is owned by the Kinney family that also owns the asphalt plant visible from I-94, and the bulk materials operation in the harbor.
