FINALLY!!! Employment looks promising

It looks like patience has finally proven virtuous. I've had 3 phone calls today to begin working with a Fleet Owner. One was for a cargo van, running solo, which I had planned to take.

I put in an app for another company to drive as a husband/wife team in a straight truck, and about a half hour later they called to see when we could start. Everything was great until they said we needed a Class B license. Neither of us have that.

This evening I got a call from another Fleet Owner who has a straight truck that does not require Class B. I've talked with him for about an hour, and I am calling him back in the morning to let him know we will be taking the position. He is leased on with Express-1. He said if we can get everything done this week, we can go to orientation in Romulus MI on Monday & Tuesday, and be on the road Wednesday.

Hubby will have to get his DOT physical, so I will set that up tomorrow, get started packing, etc, then leave here probably Friday or Saturday. This is the plan for now, but I should probably have more information by tomorrow.

I am so excited, I've been doing happy dances all day. This was my 2nd choice of what I wanted to do, and I believe I can be just as happy doing this as I could be in a tractor/trailer. At least I will be OTR and I am ready to leave right now. After going 4 1/2 months with no income, the walls of the house closing in a little more each day, I can't wait to get out and start working again.

If it has air breaks you will need at least a class B
Sounds like your making progress

No air brakes. He does have another truck that has the air brakes and said that if we decide we like this and want to move up to that one, and it is available, we can use it to test in and get into a truck with the air brakes and a larger bunk. I'm cool with starting out smaller and moving up. And yes, Baack, progress has been slow coming, but as I've always said, I won't ever give up on this dream and for once, I'm seeing a dream coming true.

Thank you, Baack, the link is greatly appreciated. I know there will be a lot to learn. It won't be a cake walk off the start, and like any other job, you have to listen, ask questions and pay attention.
