Forced dispatch to me means take the load or go find another job. The other is pretty much open to interpretation. What is reasonable for one person might not be for another. How bout after 24 hours sitting they throw you $50.00 - 75.00?

"forced dispatch" = ya gotta take it

"reasonable layover pay" = ya gotta fight with 'em just to get 50 bucks for every 24 hours

LADY GHOST:now right up front i am not a compamy driver but i think i can answer your questions.

forced dispatch with most companys simply means take the load or go home if you dont you lose your job.

lay over pay? well its dead wrong but most companys just dont give it as far as there concearned when they hire you , you become there property and there is no lay over pay, its not right but that is the way it is .

looking for a job? well this is a bad time to have to look for a job i wish you a lot of luck.

    my best to you. saouthernpride

Ill add to what everyone else said about forced dispatch. Youre given a load you must accept unless you cant legally do it, or see a problem that would prevent an ontime delivery, or have a legitimate reason to turn it down. Making a poor excuse like...my dog ate my logbook...will most likely get you canned.

And my sentiments exactly simplyred1962. I've been force dispatched but didn't know it! And U R right to say U gotta fight with them to get any layover pay at all! most of the COs I worked for didn't share it with U! Even though U were the one doin the sittin! Again thanks for the replies. LADY GHOST
