NC is now the proud owner of my SW model 13-2 because I chose to protect myself from a gang signing punk who brought the wrong weapon to the fight! I'm the one who got arrested and paid a large fine and probation and lost one of my most favorite weapons! Thank god it wasn't one of my autos! But go ahead and carry. Just don't point it at a criminal as you might be the lucky SOB to go to jail!

I hear you brother. I know I take that chance everyday, but will continue to do so. I usually carry my .40 rather than my favoite, which is a S&W .45
Hate to hear that happened to you. The system sucks, but at least you walked away unharmed from that predator.

don't take it out unless you're going to use it.

Thats right...and I don't care if I lose a $2500 Les Baer or a $500 Springfield XD...I would consider it money well spent.
And +1...don't show it unless you're gonna use it. I know it sounds harsh but thats the way the system works...a dead man can't argue with you in court.
Just pulling a pistol to threaten somebody is called "brandishing a weapon"...thats a crime even if you have a carry permit. However if you have to use it...make sure you are justified.
Its tricky in some states...not so much in others.
