:occasion5:I think that is an old Emeryville International that has been modified. There were a few years before they introduced the CO 4000 they made a cross between the old Emory and the CO 4000.
That fella probabaly has enough $$ invested in that nice looking truck to pay for something much newer.

I love the old trucks. They had character.:3some:

I love the videos of that truck. I think a straight piped small cam Cummins is the best sounding engine out there. The 2 stroke's are ok, but that Cummins does it for me, plus if it has a Jake its even better.

:smt119If i remember right, the old cummins exhaust came straight back off the motor if it did not have a turbo, like 220 hp. No elbows.
The noise those old 2 stroke 238's made sounded like a japanese motorcycle.
To check the oil you opened a little door on the dogbox inside the cab.
Look at 'emeryville' on google images for some more pics.:lovestory:

I got run right out of rockford ohio. I had a gmc crackerbox with a 238 and 6 inch straight pipes. it was so loud but that was 32 years ago. when trucking was fun and the law had a sense of humor.

The old N/A Cummins had backdrop manifolds. The truck in the video had a 400 small cam put in it so it would be turbocharged. I was thinking more along the lines of the sound from a 12v71. People talk about how cool they sound, but imho thats about all they had going for them. Detroits were the best at converting diesel into noise.:biggrin_25523:

I had a few of the old 8v71's, only saw a few 12v71's. Besides being noisy those old 318's sure leaked oil:Metal barrel:. I do remember they could run along pretty good on flat ground.
