Find a friend who is a member of AAA. Offers FREE state maps.
Have him order up 4 or 5 state maps of your most needed areas.
Good maps with quite a bit of detail vs the atlas.
Then, re order in a month others to fill out your usual lanes.
With all 3 you can drive up to the gate and confirm the street #
.....LOL LOL -
Delorme and MS Streets and trips. I use both in a laptop, inexpensive and you can see your whole route and adjust it before you start. With on click on MS you can see a aerial photo of any place on the map.(with internet) I pull some very long loads and it is great for looking at corners, also very easy to try different routes to check milage.

I have a TomTom GPS. It's a car GPS so I'm always careful about my route. If I go to a place I'm unfamiliar I still call for direction or get directions over QualComm.
It doesn't matter what GPS you have, never put 100% trust into it.
I use my Rand atlas AND GPS when planning my trip.
All the GPS haters out there are missing out on a great piece of technology that is simple to use and makes the job easier. You just need to be sure you use it correctly.
Like firearms. Put them in the wrong hands, and they're dangerous. -
Rand Mcnally trucker atlas and GPS worked great for me so far. Just cashed in all my pilot points and upgraded from the small Rand McNally GPS to the big one for free. (Thats a friggen lot of fuel, about $50k of diesal to get that many point lol.) The company I work for tells me what roads to drive on now, so I have to use the paper map for all of my navigating, but despite that all the other features of the mcnally still make it worth having and a great bargian for all it does for me.

I would prefer a high priced garmin with "TRUCKER CO PILOT"!

Sir, You sound like an elderly gentleman. Might I suggest you get your son or grandson to ride with you and help you navigate, get your walker in the cab.....
Also I assume you are having backing issues. Have you tried using your Medicare card and your bank card to visually picture how the trailer will react to steering Inputs?
