Hey guys, ok so here's the deal, I love driving a truck, been driving for 5 years now and don't really want to do anything else but here's the thing. I'm local, ALWAYS been local, started that way out of school and been at my second company for just over 4 years. I don't know if the grass is greener elsewhere cause I've never been. Little background, I put in 55 to 60 hours a week, off weekends, home every night, good benefits and actually good bosses. I get paid by the hour and make about $1100 to $1200 a week gross. The bad is I work for the most part within a 20 mile radius and drop, hook and switch about 50 times a day. And I would love to make more money. DO I HAVE A GOOD GIG ?
Thanks for any input and love the site guys.
Not really sure if I have a good gig ?

Sounds pretty darn good to me.
Local gigs that pay like that are not easy to find unless you are hand unloading a bunch of freight all day.shriner75 Thanks this. -
I don't unload anything, lol but I sure do jump in and out of the truck a lot. Thanks money

No problem!
I would love to sleep in my own bed every night...
I average 3 to 4 nights a week in the truck,That is plenty for me...azdennie Thanks this. -
You have the job that you'll wish you had after 20 years of driving over the road. If you leave, you'll learn that the hard way.
Enjoy it now or regret it later. -
Thanks Dave, I'm getting that impression myself. I keep looking at job posts and thinking to myself that maybe I should just hunker down and just work myself up the pay ladder.

The grass gets no greener ... OTR money is usually less than that, and not as consistant. Be thankful for landing that job.
