Hey NY let me throw in my 2 cent. i did the OTR thingy and I am like you I wanted to be home. I had some friends that hauled gas and they got me a job working for a local outfit and let me tell ya it is the best move I ever made. I work 5 days a week and bring home 7-900 a week and I am home everyday. Best part is....I will always have a job because EVERYBODY needs gas!! I will admit it is a dangerous job and not for everyone but it is an option. GOOD LUCK!!..........BONE

Bone, glad to have you back.

They probably have you running holidays and sundays too, don't they?

One thing about hauling gas. If you wreck you won't live long enough to be embarrassed about it.

Hi NY:
Here is my 2 cents. If you don't mind getting dirty look for an industrial Vac Co. its dirty work, but your home every night. I have to fight to get a day off when we are busy. I started out at $10.00 an hr. I work about 50 -55 hrs. A week. I bring home about $450.00 to $500.00 after taxes and child support. I am sure there is a vac co in your area (With-in commuting distance). You are even more valuable than most of the drivers that they have because you have a class A cdl. Most of there drivers will only have a class B. I am the only class a in the company that I work for. I am the only one that can drive the KW tractor trlr for our roll-of dumpsters and vac boxes. Good Luck and hang in there.

I don't think I would mind it so much, but some of those gas stations are a colossal pain in the rear end to get in and out of.
