I try, really I do. But don't blame me because some companies only allow drivers to get 50gals. here and there. I fuel, pull up, go inside, use the restroom(#1 of course cause you cant rush a #2), get my receipt and grab a 20oz drink. Sorry if it holds you up, but that's why I only fuel at the start or end of my day!

I once had a driver get mad and go in to have me paged at the Van Horn Pilot because I guess I didn't pull up far enough for him (not sure why). I fueled, pulled forward to the line (he wasn't behind me at that point), went in, used the bathroom, got a drink, paid and was printing out my receipt at the kiosk when the page was made. I glanced at my receipt and it was my pump. As I got to my truck, I looked back, the guy gave me the "any day now" guesture. I shot him a dirty look and I left. I'm still not sure what his deal was.

You would hate running only at night. When the T/S is full, which they almost always are at night, there is no going to park to do stuff. Sometimes it is offset by less people being in the fuel island but not always. It's just something you have to deal with. Taking a shower or sitting down to eat is still a no no but I won't get mad at some guy trying to get a sub or whatever in the middle of the night.

I always avoided any T/S with a McDonald's in it or next door to it. It's guaranteed that you will sit in the fuel island for a long time at those. They take forever, everyone wants to eat there, and they always screw up everyone's order so it's waiting forever again.

A little patience. I often need to pee when I pull into a truck stop. If I can pull in and fuel right away, no problem. I can pull forward, opening the pump for the next person, then go. But if there's someone pulled forward and someone in the island, I'm not going to sit there doing the I-GOTTA-PEE-RIGHT-NOW dance. I'll go inside and go. Usually takes less than five minutes.

Yes, I will buy a coffee, maybe lunch if the line isn't too long, and I am going to update my log book per DOT regulation so that when I pull out onto a public road, I will be legal. My log book takes 30 seconds because it's already updated to my last duty change before stopping to fuel or for a quick break.

If you're in such a big hurry that my little ten minutes that is up just about the time you're climbing into your truck to move forward is going to make you late, you were already late to begin with. That's not my problem. Pitch a fit to me and I might find something in my sleeper that needs to be straightened out.

If I see there are trucks waiting to fuel, I do not spend a lot of time overhauling my glass. If there is nobody behind me and there are open pumps, I might sit there eating a sandwich. However, as soon as someone pulls in behind me, I wrap it up and get moved.

Waiting is part of trucking. Get used to it.

I got IBS, If I gotta go. Ill pull through a Island, hit the break, lock the door, run in, do my thing, hop in, circle around to fuel if I gotta fuel and gone. I dont complain about scumbags that leave bags of crap (litterally feces) on the pavement, or pee bottles on the ground, or pee on the pavement.

But I wont do it. sorry. Ill pull through, and up, run in, take care of what I gotta take care of, that I simply wont make if I gotta walk too far. And be on my way. 5m tops. Deal with it.

You know they would get the lanes messed up. They'd be standing under the sign saying, "I didn't know" or the typical "screw em", me me me.

I've seen outside lanes open and drivers wait for the first couple pumps just so they didn't have to walk 100' further.

Someone needs to come up with a drive thru for truckers. It would be a hit with the lazy crowd.

Sometimes I think I have an advantage when I say something because I'm a woman. But I don't care who I offend if they are in the wrong. Making them feel like crap in front of people is their punishment for not following the rules!
