    Hello All,

First off I would like to thank all of you for the knowledge imparted on this site, amazing help even to me who at least in theory has been doing it long enough that I should know what's up.

Fairly recently I got prepass for my truck. Most times I get the green light and keep on trucking. Rarely a red light at all. My question is this, if coming to a prepass scale and green lighted, must I stop if the lighted sign states that'all trucks must enter open scales'? I assume not and have not stopped as these signs are always after the sign that says prepass trucks follow in cab signals.

    What is the real story?

    Thank you,

    Big Jay

...unless you are hauling HazMat. In that case, the laws are different from state to state. Some still require you to pull in, while others do not.

If you get the red light and the scale exit lane if full or moving really slow, I would bypass.

Don't do anything to block or get rearended on the expressway.

I did not get much info with the prepass but have always followed what it says. Pretty nice deal for someone who has never had it.

    Thank you,

    Big Jay

Make sure you go in the scale if you're running under a permitted load too!

some states will have weigh-in-motion that will tell you to scale. If you get the green light, dont bother stopping.
