Where I worked at, everyone had well over 20years experience, and really no big heads but the senior driver. Some had well over 40 years driving. The company said, we want nothing but the best, and thats why we pay you good. I have been Drug tested 3 times in 1 month. When they used to hire you, they made you take a Lie Detector test, or go work somewhere else.

Daddy use to say ,"Drivers are a dime a dozen but good ones are 2 bits a piece."
If you have a clean record, good rep. and know how to handle a truck there's high paying jobs out there.

The sad part is that today's world of trucking is ever more geared towards whoever you can get to work the cheapest. Today's "management" very seldom has any real background in anything even approaching trucking. They rely on "computer models" and programs or whatever the "newest, bestest" electronic toy is.
Within 10- 15 years the trucking industry (and many others) is going to be in very critical shape.

My point is, we are Pharmaceutical, your LTL. They want to make sure you are clean, stay clean, and will not Lie to them. If you lie to them, your gone. Its just the way they run things. Drugs are watched more than anything. I haul Every kind of drug you can think of. Why would a LTL company give you a Lie Detector test. I ran LTL, many many years and not one company would require that, or I have never heard anyone else have to take a Lie Detect. Test running LTL. Central Transport?

Yup, lie detector test. Same ol' questions, from what I recall. Ever steal anything, ever sleep on the job, things like that.
Central wasn't always a bottom feeder, it wasn't too bad in the 80's. Then Maddie shut it down for a few years, got rid of the Teamsters, and restarted the company.

I remember Central, there was also a few other companies with the Central name. How are you guys doing these days. Getting rid of the Teamsters, I know you guys lost a lot. Thats the only reason for getting rid of them, so they can do what ever they want, No over time after 8 , straight time only, benefits cut, no retirement, But you might have a 401, But thats your own money. But they always say, your lucky you have a job. Hope you guys are doing O.K.
