Was fueling at Pilot in Knoxville yesterday morning. When I pulled up to the pump, there was a Werner driver in the pump next to me proceeding to wash his truck and trailer. He was washing the engine when I first got there. By the time I finished fueling, pulled forward, went inside for the receipt, he had pulled forward and was proceeding to wash the front of his trailer, totally disregarding the truckers waiting for fuel. Just using the hose and tools at the pump. He was still there when I pulled out.

Should have told him that if he put water in his tanks he'd get better fuel economy. He might have believed you.

    SHC and Motownfire Thank this.

This story makes me angry and depressed at the same time. I mean, everybody universally hates a fuel island blocker (you're going to hell if this is you...), but on the other hand, god that's pathetic that somebody would waste that much energy cleaning a stupid Werner truck.

SHC, Motownfire, misc and 6 others Thank this.

Werner Doesn't pay enough to warrant getting out of bed in the morning, let alone a free truck wash on your own time.

I bet he was one of them der fancy lease operators and had to keep his large car cornbinder nice and shiny, cmon.

Got stuck behind a driver washing his truck today on the fuel island- he didn't seem to have a care in the world while my FREAK'IN OBR recorded the whole incident.

I don't hold him responsible, it's UNCLE SLAM I have a problem with..

I was getting fuel at the Pilot in Sturbridge Mass and saw something similar. In the middle lane , a truck fueling pulled up after getting fuel, and the truck behind him in line was no where to be found. It literally took him 16 minutes, before coming back to his truck with a handful of pizza, snacks, and drinks. After getting settled into his truck, and taking another 2.5 minutes to put away his stuff, he pulled up to get fuel. At this particular pilot, you have to fuel one side at a time. The pumps don't work at the same time, so there is always a long wait to get fuel there. 2-3 trucks in each line waiting. So many, that pulling into the parking lot is a challenge.

For the third time in about a month, I couldn't help myself but say something to the lazy driver. I asked him if he had thought about all of the trucks next, and behind him while he was inside wasting peoples time. He offered up the same excuse as the 2 previous drivers I confronted. His excuse, "someone was there getting fuel, and "I wasn't gone long". After i finished fueling, I had to go inside, so I beelined to his truck to show him the proper way to pull up after fueling, and going inside to handle your business.

It's not surprising that his dash had 3-4 inches of garbage across his whole dash. He's just another example of why good drivers carry around the stereotype of a truck driver. IMG_20120410_195243.jpg

Here is my story of fuel lane hogger.

Saw a guy walking out of a truck with a duffel bag over his shoulders, I thought nothing of it, since I've run team and I would head out and get a jump start on freshning up, while my team would fuel and park and then hit the showers.

I was 1 truck back on the adjacent pump whilst the trucks were parked two three deep. This was at the flying J in Gulfport, MS.

They guy in front moves forward, fuels his reefer, pulls out and I begin to fuel. Meanwhile the truck never moves, nor is anyone fueling it. I finish fueling and pull forward and the next truck starts fueling.

As I pull forward I snap a picture and the guys parked in front get on the radio, asking if I knew him, I said no. They also seen him park and grab a duffel bag and head inside. Oh boy. Cb chatter got lively then.

Anyway.. here is the knuckle heads truck and number.

They later said it was an aye rab. I didn't get a good look, but it shouldn't matter who it is, Courtesy is courtesy in any language.
