Curious as to company drivers who run so much away from home, how much time off do you take when finally home?
Is it one day off for every week you run?
Do you prefer to stay out for 2-3 months then take off for a week? or more than a week?

Depends on your situation. I like to run 5-6 weeks then take a week off. Then once a year i will take a month off. Also depends on your company. A large company can cover the work, but a small one would be in a bind.

Look into expediting ( FedEx Custom Critical , Panther). They just expect 75% availability . Most drivers work 3 or 4 weeks then take a week off.

Some companies require a driver to clean out the truck if taking that much time off. Something to ask about when researching companies if extended time off is something you are looking for. It's a real PITA to get all your stuff out of a truck every couple months, plus you have to go through the hassle of cleaning the new truck when you go back to work. Much simpler to find a company that will let you keep the truck on time off.

That's what I like about my company, I take my truck home. Although we can only take off up to 7 days at a time. Whether you stay out 36 days or 56.

I usually stay out 3 weeks then take off 5 days.

I have a buddy that stays out for months at a time. He'll take his vacation time off, and go to Mexico to see his wife. He practically lives in his truck.

I'm home every 4th weekend. Get home on Thursday night, and leave out on Monday morning. At my company, if you take 5 days off, or more, than you have to turn your truck in, unless approved. If you've been with the company for a bit, then you can keep it.

PTI in Sikeston, Missouri is like that. If your gonna take off for 4 days you had to clean your truck out and then hope they had a truck when you came back and if they did you wouldnt get any decent miles anyway.
