Oklahoma will be opening their new scale/POE on I35 south of the Kansas border on Friday after their open house party. Be ready they have a new pit and new inspectors.

They've only been layed back due to lack of resources. That scale and a identical twin on i40 at the western edge of the state will change that. I expect to see that scale working hard once open they have been doing a lot more in the last few months anyways at rest areas and old check stations.

I would like to be the first lowboy on their pit, would love to break their curb. Pit looks like it has about a 6 inch or more lip around the pit and you can be sure one of the new inspectors will insist that some driver with a low trailer pull in no matter how much the driver warns them, sure would like the pleasure.

They need to make the money back it cost to build it, so be prepared.

    WOW! Modern Oklahoma technology.

Was that pic taken in 1975? Lets hope the Oklahoma State Patrol doesn't visit Banning and see what a supercoop looks like. Here are a few of the things they would find BEFORE a truck even gets to the barn.

    Infrared tire/brake temp sensors
Dynamic individual axle scales ( 0.3 seconds to get each axle weight)
    Diesel Particulate Sensors
Nuclear Chemical Biological sensors (the big metal thing you drive thru)
10 megapixle photos of the underside of the truck as you roll across the scale.
HD video camera under the truck.
X-ray the trailer looking for anomalies (people).

Then if they dont find anything they can still pull you into the old style barn and do a good old fashioned level one..

Id rather take my chances with Festus in an oil change pit in Northern Oklahoma.
