1998 Freight Liner Gear problem - what could be the problem
I am asking this in behalf of my husband. He has a 1998 freightliner detroit engine super 10 top 2. When he puts the gear from 8th gear to 9th gear it does nothing, the truck starts slowing down like it want to quit but when he puts it back to 8th gear then the truck runs fine. It only do this on those 2 gears but not on any other gear. What could be the problem? Any idea please help.
thanks

I drove one of those a few years back and can't remember it, seems like top 2 gears were "automatics".
