I hear ya! I was in Texas with no A/C and had to PU a load at 20:00. The inside of my cab was 108. The A/C was broke inside the Flying J and they didn't even have ice. Had to go to a fast food joint and get a cup of ice. Laid in my truck with the ice on my junk and under my armpits until it was gone. I know TMI, sorry.

It will happen again the way companies are about idle policy.

This is a pretty big issue for those doing OTR. As far a rolling down the windows, wouldn't that create more drag? It does with a car and mpg goes down when the windows are down. Whether or not you get better mpg with the windows down and not running the A/C OR getting less mpg with the A/C on and the windows up is debatable.

MPG is certainly an issue and why they put nose cones on the truck (to reduce drag), right?

No, don't sleep in truck, but sleep in an unairconditioned house every night. AC raises the electric bill $150 to $200 a month. I can live with the heat for a $2000 yearly savings.

I'd never say that. Try working in 120° heat. The only thing we did was keep the window cracked a bit because a good way to get sick is going in and out of cold all day long.
