depending on where youre at the police might not be interested in coming AT ALL, in detroit unless its a life threatening incident (sometimes not even then)youre unlikely to get a police officer out to where you need them, and even if they do come theyre going to make sure its 30 min to 4 hrs afterwards so that the criminal is long gone.

since the trailer still said landstar. then landstar still owns it. becuase companies takes there names off the trailer when getting rid of it.
they don't want there name on a trailer that was once owned. if something happens that results in some type of criminal charge and lawsuit. they don't want there name associated.
i bet if you ever find out who owns the plate. it will be registered to landstar.
and don't they do there licensing in illinois?

Not necessarily, when I got rid of my reefers, it was the understanding they would be de-id'ed by the dealer. Imagine my surprise a year or so later to see my name rolling down the road. The last time I saw it was a year ago, and unfortunately there is a language barrier with the operator.
Also, if it was a BCO's former trailer, Landstar would have zero control over the decals. You really have no idea what your talking about.

well, umm i would think it would be YOUR responsibility to take YOUR decals off. cuz i don't think anyone else is going to pay for the time and labor to remove YOUR decals. that's less profit for THEM.
so yeah, i think i know what i'm talking about.

You have no idea of what you are talking about. I've traded tractors and trailers, with the signs still on them. The dealers de-identified them.
BTW, there are plenty of ex-Landstar trailers that have been de-identified that you still have no problem making out the lettering, because of paint fade.

I have a friend who bought a trailer from Landstar. They painted over the name with white paint, but you can still see the Landstar logo.
